If you have an Individual or Family plan, it is either Dental Blue Basic or Dental Blue Enhanced. The Basic plan has most diagnostic and preventive services covered in addition to certain basic and major treatments with a $500 maximum benefit. The Enhanced plan has nearly all services covered and a $1,250 maximum benefit.
If you have dental insurance through an employer at a small company, you likely have Dental Prime or Dental Complete. Both plans completely cover diagnostic and preventive services and have partial coverage for some basic and even major services such as dental implants.
If you have dental insurance through an employer at a large company, you are covered by Dental Blue, Dental Prime or Dental Complete. If it is Dental Blue, you have 100% of diagnostic and preventive services covered and partial or majority coverage for some basic and major services. But because deductibles, maximums and even some treatments are customizable with the Dental Prime or Dental Complete plans for large groups, you will have to check with your specific plan to determine treatment coverage.
